New Trailer and Director Announced for Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc

There is big news for Chainsaw Man fans: The second teaser trailer for the highly anticipated adaptation of the Assassins Arc has been released, and it has been officially announced that Tatsuya Yoshihara will be in the director's chair. Yoshihara previously directed the Reze Arc film, earning full marks from both critics and audiences.
According to Anime News Network's report on June 19, 2026, the new trailer showcases action-packed scenes as well as the series' dark atmosphere. In the trailer, hints are given about main characters such as Denji, Aki, and Power, along with new enemies. The dynamic camera angles and striking visual storytelling, hallmarks of Yoshihara, are among the most notable aspects of the trailer.
As you may recall, Chainsaw Man is adapted from the manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The first season was highly acclaimed when animated by MAPPA in 2022, and the subsequent Reze Arc film initiated the second major wave of the story. Now it's time for the Assassins Arc. This arc covers a period in the manga where international assassins pursue Denji and tension reaches its peak. Fujimoto's signature surprising twists and emotional depth will also be evident in this arc.
Yoshihara's reappointment as director indicates the studio's desire to maintain the series' quality bar. MAPPA had previously made a name for itself with productions like Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan: The Final Season. With this new season of Chainsaw Man, the studio is set to once again prove its mastery in action and storytelling.
Although no official release date has been announced yet, the trailer ends with the phrase 'Coming Soon.' Fans can expect to see the Assassins Arc on screen in late 2026 or early 2027. Meanwhile, we should note that the Chainsaw Man manga is still ongoing, with new chapters released every week. Get ready for a wild, bloody, and emotionally charged journey!
