A new trailer has been released for the Witch on the Holy Night (Mahōtsukai no Yoru) film, adapted by studio Ufotable from the Type-Moon universe. The trailer officially announced that the film will be released in theaters in Japan on November 20, 2025. This date marks a one-year delay from the previously estimated late 2024 release.
The trailer shows the encounter between Aoko Aozaki and Soujuurou Shizuki at the mansion on the hill and the magical events that follow. The visuals showcase Ufotable's signature high-quality animation and lighting effects. The film's score is composed by Hideyuki Fukasawa (Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel), who is well-known to Type-Moon fans.
Witch on the Holy Night is an adaptation of the visual novel originally released by Type-Moon in 2012. The original story was written by the famous author Kinoko Nasu and serves as a prequel to the Kara no Kyoukai series. The film focuses on Aoko Aozaki's younger years, telling the story of someone just beginning their journey into the world of magecraft. Additionally, another popular character from the series, Touko Aozaki, will make her first appearance on the big screen.
