New Trailer Released for Second Season of Yoroiden Samurai Troopers

One of the unforgettable classics of the 1980s, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (known as Ronin Warriors in the West), is preparing for the second act of its rebirth. The second promotional video for the second season (second cour), released recently, offered fans the first glimpses of the new episodes. Additionally, it was announced that the closing episodes of the first season will be re-aired for a short time.
The new trailer tells the struggle of the five warriors donning their mystical armors against dark forces in an even more epic tone. The footage aims to attract both old fans of the series and new viewers. The production, which aired its first season in the summer of 2024, stood out as a modern interpretation of the original 1988-1989 series. The original series was created by Hajime Yatate and animated by Sunrise studio. The new adaptation was brought to life in collaboration with Bandai Namco Pictures and Actas, with Kenichi Yamamoto in the director's chair.
This remake is not solely focused on nostalgia; it offers new characters that add depth to the story and an updated visual aesthetic. The first 13 episodes aired between July and September 2024 and received positive reactions both in Japan and on international platforms. The second cour is expected to start in April 2025. The trailer also features rearranged versions of the series' iconic music.
The last three episodes of the first season will be rebroadcast on certain channels just before the second season's premiere, throughout March. This is a great opportunity especially for those who want to remember the story or missed it. This modern interpretation of Samurai Troopers maintains the spirit of the 80s while offering production quality in line with today's anime standards. If you haven't watched the first season yet, now is the perfect time, because it's certain that the battles will heat up even more in the second half.
