New Trailer and Cast Details Revealed for Nippon Sangoku Anime: Premieres April 5!

Ikka Matsuki's acclaimed post-apocalyptic manga Nippon Sangoku is preparing for an ambitious entry into the anime world. With the release of the series' highly anticipated third trailer, it has been confirmed that the anime will premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on April 5, 2026. The new trailer showcases the series' strategic depth and chaotic atmosphere while announcing new voice actors that have excited fans.
Talented names such as Kenyū Horiuchi (Hei Miyakichi), Shūichirō Umeda (Nagao Taketo Jun), Shunsuke Sakuya (Kura Akii), and Ayumu Murase (Hiradono Tsugumi) have joined the anime's expanding cast. Additionally, the ending theme titled "Chikai" (Oath), performed by Leina, was heard for the first time alongside the trailer. The new visual released features the main character Aoteru Misumi and Yoshitsune Asama in front of a dilapidated Tsutenkaku tower.
Nippon Sangoku takes place in a dystopian future where civilization has collapsed due to nuclear war and corruption, and Japan is divided into three rival kingdoms (Yamato, Takeo, and Seii). The story follows the rise of Aoteru Misumi, a former local bureaucrat who aims to reunite the country through superior intelligence and oratory skills rather than brute force. Serialized in the Manga ONE app since 2021, the work has proven its quality by ranking high in prestigious awards such as the Manga Taisho and Next Manga Awards.
Produced by Studio Kafka, known for The Ancient Magus' Bride series, the anime is directed by Kazuaki Terasawa. The music is composed by Kevin Penkin, the legendary composer of works like Made in Abyss and Tower of God. Standing out with both political intrigue and military genius, this production will begin airing on Amazon Prime Video on April 5, followed by Japanese television on April 7. One of the strongest candidates of the spring season is on its way for anime enthusiasts who love strategy and drama!
