One Piece Episode 1156 Trailer Released: The Journey to the Land of Giants, Elbaph, Begins

A historic moment is approaching for One Piece fans. Toei Animation has released the first trailer for the series' highly anticipated 1156th episode, officially announcing the start of the journey to the land of giants, Elbaph. Airing on April 5, 2026, this episode follows Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates as they set their course for the legendary homeland of the giants following the chaotic events of the Egghead arc. This return marks not only the beginning of a new story arc but also the first step in a revolutionary change to the series' broadcast format.
Elbaph has been a source of great mystery and anticipation for followers of the series for over 20 years. First introduced through the giant warriors Dorry and Brogy in the Little Garden arc, this island is directly linked to Usopp's dream of becoming a "brave warrior of the sea." In the universe crafted by Eiichiro Oda, the honor and strength of the giants have always been a central theme. The trailer has created a massive wave of excitement on social media, heralding the crew's arrival at this massive island and the magnificent atmosphere fans have dreamed of for years.
From an industry perspective, One Piece is transitioning to a new broadcast model starting with episode 1156. To maintain the highest level of animation quality, Toei Animation will now follow a seasonal format instead of airing continuously throughout the year. A total of 26 episodes will be released throughout 2026, presented in two 13-episode cours. This strategic decision will provide the production team with more time and improve the pacing of the storytelling by maintaining the distance between the manga and the anime.
The title of episode 1156 has been set as "The Longed-For Elbaph! A Giant Feast of Reunion." In the episode, not only will we meet new characters, but familiar faces from the series' past are also expected to join the story. This new arc, which will be broadcast simultaneously on platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix, represents one of the most critical tests on Luffy's path to becoming the "King of the Pirates." Fans will be glued to their screens on Sunday, April 5, to witness the first steps of this epic adventure.
