Möbius Dust, the new sci-fi mystery anime series produced by animation studio Dogakobo with a completely original script, will begin airing on July 9 on TOKYO MX, BS Fuji, MBS, and other channels. With the main visual, first main trailer, and additional voice cast released today, the veil of mystery surrounding the series has been lifted a bit more.
Among the newly announced cast members is 坂泰斗 (Taito Sakai). Sakai is known for his roles in productions such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer. Along with the previously announced names, the voice cast of the series is getting stronger. Additionally, the ending theme for the anime has been clarified; although the artist and song title have not been fully revealed yet, a short clip was included in the trailer.
Möbius Dust is a genre experiment for Dogakobo, differing from their earlier cheerful, daily-life-focused works like Yuru Yuri, New Game!, and Himouto! Umaru-chan. Introduced as an immersive sci-fi mystery, the anime presents a story revolving around a mysterious dust cloud that rewrites people's memories. Being an original work makes it difficult to predict where it will go, sparking additional curiosity among fans.
Expected to make a mark on this summer season, Dogakobo's production will start airing as of July 9. The series will also be broadcast on various digital platforms in addition to Japanese TV channels. In the coming weeks, more character introductions and a second trailer are expected. What kind of timeline and memory distortion awaits us, we will all see together.
