Osomatsu-san Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary with a Massive Event: "Opening Festival" Details Revealed!

The popular comedy series Osomatsu-san is hosting a major event to excite fans in celebration of its 10th anniversary on television. In the special visual prepared for the celebration, announced as the "10th ANNIVERSARY OSOMATSUSAN SPECIAL 6DAYS Opening Festival", an intimate moment is depicted with the Matsuno brothers (Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, and Todomatsu) walking side by side. This event aims to crown the massive success achieved by the series' modern journey, which began in 2015.
Scheduled to take place in June 2025, this six-day festival will be held at the Line Cube Shibuya (Shibuya Public Hall) in Tokyo. Fans attending the event will be gifted limited-edition acrylic keychains featuring the date for each specific day. Such collectibles hold great significance for the series' loyal followers. The modern series, brought to life by Studio Pierrot, has become a phenomenon not only for its humor but also for its character designs and voice cast.
The roots of Osomatsu-san actually trace back to legendary manga artist Fujio Akatsuka's 1962 series Osomatsu-kun. The reboot project, launched in 2015 in honor of Akatsuka's 80th birthday, gained unexpected popularity by portraying the characters as adults (and unemployed). Bringing together some of Japan's most famous voice actors (seiyuu) such as Takahiro Sakurai, Yuichi Nakamura, and Hiroshi Kamiya, the production has carved out a unique place in the anime world with its absurd humor and social commentary.
