Osomatsu-san Celebrated Its 10th Anniversary with a Special Event: Voice Cast Reunited

Osomatsu-san's special event for its 10th anniversary took place on June 6 at the Piccadilly cinema in Tokyo's Marunouchi district. On the first day of the "10th ANNIVERSARY OSOMATSUSAN SPECIAL 6DAYS Kaimaku-sai" event, 11 voice actors who bring the main characters to life gathered on stage. The cast included Takahiro Sakurai as Osomatsu, Yuichi Nakamura as Karamatsu, Hiroshi Kamiya as Choromatsu, Jun Fukuyama as Ichimatsu, Daisuke Ono as Jyushimatsu, and Miyu Irino as Todomatsu. Also present were voice actors for supporting characters: Aya Endo as Totoko, Sachi Kuniyuki as Chibita, Yoji Ueda as Dekapan, Nobuo Tobita as Dayon, and Momoko Saito as Hata.
Based on Fujio Akatsuka's classic manga, Osomatsu-san first aired in 2015. The series reimagines the original six brothers with a modern twist and quickly gained a large fanbase. It ran for three seasons (2015-2016, 2017-2018, 2020-2021) and two theatrical films. Noted for its absurd humor and references to contemporary pop culture, the anime has been beloved in Japan and internationally for 10 years.
Takahiro Sakurai (Osomatsu) expressed his feelings on stage: "I truly love this work. It has been a great joy to portray these characters for 10 years." The other actors also refreshed unforgettable memories with fans. The event was only the first leg of a 6-day special program; it was announced that different content and surprise guests would appear in the coming days.
Such a cast reunion holds great significance for fans, especially for a long-running series. Osomatsu-san's 10th anniversary celebrations once again demonstrate the dedication of the studio and the cast to the series. There is speculation that announcements of a new film, special episode, or fourth season may come in the near future. For now, all eyes are on the other announcements to be made during the 6DAYS event.
