Patlabor: The Case Files Game Launches on PS5 and PC on September 17
According to Anime News Network, Patlabor: The Case Files will be released on September 17, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC. The game will be offered with Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean language options. Thus, the Patlabor universe will meet its fans with a new video game after a long hiatus.
Patlabor is known as a manga and anime series created by the Headgear collective in 1988. Masami Yuki's artwork, Mamoru Oshii's direction, Kazunori Ito's scripts, and Yutaka Izubuchi's mecha designs made the series one of the most important examples of the real robot subgenre. The first TV series, Mobile Police Patlabor, aired in 1989–1990; with subsequent OVAs and theatrical films, the series achieved cult status worldwide.
