Patlabor the Case Files Coming This Summer: New Trailer and Details Shared

An exciting wait for mecha fans is coming to an end! Publisher Good Smile Company and developer Chime Corporation have announced that the new 3D action game Patlabor the Case Files, based on the beloved Mobile Police Patlabor series, will be released this summer. With the release of the second promotional video, not only has the game's release window been clarified, but the in-depth gameplay mechanics awaiting players have also been detailed for the first time.
Patlabor the Case Files promises to let players relive iconic moments from the series. One of the most notable features of the game is its presentation of the story from a dual perspective. Players will control members of Special Vehicles Section 2 (SV2) in the "Main Missions" while experiencing the perspective of the series' antagonists through "Another Side Missions." More than 20 different Labors (the giant robots in the series), including legendary models like Ingram, Griffon, and Type Zero, will be playable. Additionally, a special "Simulator Mode" where players can practice shooting and participate in robot battles will be included in the game.
The team behind the game consists of names that will highly please loyal fans of the series. Yutaka Izubuchi is overseeing mechanical design, Kazunori Itou is overseeing the scenario, and Akemi Takada is overseeing character art. These individuals are among the cornerstones of the original team that founded the HEADGEAR group in 1988 and created the Patlabor universe. Furthermore, Kenji Kawai, who composed the unforgettable music for the series, has created a brand new opening track titled "the Case Files" for the game.
