The promotional trailer released for the fourth season of Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World has confirmed that the eagerly anticipated Recapture Arc will begin on August 12. According to Anime News Network, the trailer includes the line, 'The Recapture Arc begins on August 12.' Thus, the start date of the popular isekai series' new story arc has been officially confirmed.
The anime, based on Tappei Nagatsuki's light novel series of the same name, was first adapted by studio White Fox in 2016. The story, centered around Subaru Natsuki's ability to return by death, quickly became one of the most beloved works in the isekai genre. After completing its first season in 2016, the anime aired its second season in 2020-2021, followed by a third season in 2024-2025. The third season adapted Arc 5 and depicted the struggle against the Witch Cult members. It has been announced that the fourth season will continue directly with the Recapture Arc.
It is not yet known exactly which part of the novel series the Recapture Arc corresponds to. Nevertheless, the concept of 'recapture,' meaning 'to seize again,' suggests that the story will focus on a mission themed around reclaiming someone or something lost.
