New Opening Music Video Released from Red River Anime
The long-awaited Red River anime has shared the first video of its highly anticipated opening song. According to Anime News Network, the piece 'Akatsuki no Sora' (Dawn Sky) performed by Hiroki Nanami is accompanied by visuals that reflect the series' atmosphere.
The video briefly shows the main character Yuri being dragged to ancient Anatolia (the Hittite Empire), her encounter with Prince Kail, and the dangers she faces. The song's energetic rhythm is used in harmony with the action-packed scenes in the opening credits. This video also confirms the previous announcement that the series will air in July 2026.
Chie Shinohara's Red River (originally titled Sora no Hate no Monogatari), serialized in Shōjo Comic magazine from 1995 to 2002, is one of the most beloved works in the historical fantasy genre. The manga has sold over 20 million copies worldwide and has garnered a large fanbase, especially in Turkey, because the story is set in the Hittite civilization and Anatolian geography. The long-standing demands for an anime adaptation have finally been answered.
The production is handled by studio TYO Animations, with direction by Kazuhiro Furuhashi (director of the famous Hunter x Hunter 1999 series). The script is written by Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden, K-On!). This strong team has raised expectations for the quality of the adaptation.
The Red River anime will begin airing on television channels in Japan in July 2026. Although no specific platform for international distribution has been announced yet, Crunchyroll or Netflix are expected to pick up the series. Trailers and new visuals for the series will continue to be released in the coming weeks.
