Reiwa no Dara-san Anime Second Trailer Released: Tomokazu Sugita and Saori Hayami Join Cast

Reiwa no Dara-san anime excited fans with its second main trailer introducing new characters and cast. The trailer announced new names featuring leading voice actors in the industry such as Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama, Steins;Gate) and Saori Hayami (Spy × Family, My Hero Academia). Additionally, first details about the ending theme song and its artist were shared.
The original manga, a comedy work written and illustrated by Tomotsuka Haruomi (ともつか治臣), follows the daily adventures of Dara-san, a lazy but endearing character of the Reiwa era. The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine since 2020 and quickly gained popularity. The anime adaptation was announced last year, and it was revealed that Studio SHAFT (Monogatari Series, Madoka Magica) was chosen as the production company.
The second trailer shows new scenes from Dara-san's daily life, as well as the first glimpses of the mysterious neighbor character Tanaka-san voiced by Sugita, and the hardworking café employee Miyu voiced by Hayami. According to released information, the ending theme is titled “Slow Life ni Koi Shita” and will be performed by popular singer Yui Ogura. The series is directed by Shinichi Omata, who previously served as episode director on Kaguya-sama: Love is War.
These new details have increased expectations for the anime, especially with the presence of experienced names like Tomokazu Sugita and Saori Hayami. The success of both voice actors in comedy and heartfelt dialogues seems to perfectly match the relaxing and fun tone of Reiwa no Dara-san. After the trailer, anime fans shared comments on social media focusing on the character designs and voices.
Although the premiere date for Reiwa no Dara-san anime has not yet been set, it is expected to air on Tokyo MX and other channels in the April 2025 season. Platforms such as Crunchyroll and Netflix are also reported to be in negotiations for international streaming rights. New trailers and more voice cast announcements are expected in the coming weeks. The series promises a warm break for viewers looking to escape the stress of daily life.
