New Visual from Re:Zero Season 4 Part 2 "The Recapture Arc" and Special "Stay Alive" Performance by Emilia
Exciting news continues to come for Re:Zero fans. The official key visual for the second part of the series' fourth season (also referred to as the third season in some sources), "The Recapture Arc", has finally been released. The visual depicts a dramatic scene of Subaru, Emilia, Beatrice, and other main characters advancing in front of the Pleiades Tower with weapons in hand. This new arc will adapt Arc 6, where Subaru, suffering from memory loss, tries to uncover his past and the secrets connected to the tower.
Not only the visual, but also the series' 10th anniversary event came with a big surprise. Emilia's beloved voice actress Rie Takahashi will perform a new version of the famous song "Stay Alive" live at the event. This song has held a special place in fans' hearts since the first season, and it returns with Takahashi's emotional rendition. Additionally, a total of 12 voice actors, including Yusuke Kobayashi who voices Subaru, will gather at the event. This gathering promises a journey from the past to the present of the Re:Zero universe.
So what is this "fourth season" confusion? Actually, Re:Zero's anime adventure that started in 2016 continued with the second season in 2020-2021, and then with the third season in fall 2024. However, Japanese sources count OVAs and two separate cours, thus calling this new part "4th Season". The first part of the third season (the Attack Arc) aired from October to December 2024. Now, with The Recapture Arc, the story reaches one of the most complex and emotional points of Tappei Nagatsuki's original light novel series. The production studio White Fox is expected to deliver another high-quality job.
The highly anticipated release date has not been finalized yet, but considering the event and visual announcement, it is highly likely to premiere in the first half of 2025. The Re:Zero universe has already gained great momentum with the 10th anniversary events and the excitement of the new arc. We can't wait to see what kind of trial awaits Subaru and his team in the new episode – remember, in this tower, memory loss could be the greatest enemy.
