New Visual and Trailer for Romelia War Chronicle Anime: Coming in Two Parts in 2026!

There is exciting news for the Romelia War Chronicle (Romelia Senki) anime, which subverts the usual fantasy trope of "the hero defeats the demon king and everything is fixed"! With the announcements made during the AnimeJapan 2026 event, not only were a new visual and trailer for the series shared, but the broadcast schedule was also clarified. According to the official statement, the anime will meet the audience in two separate parts (split-cour) throughout 2026. This means fans will be able to watch Romelia's story as a long-running production.
The plot of the series begins where classic fantasy stories end. Immediately after the defeat of the Demon King Zelgis, our protagonist Romelia von Graham is cruelly abandoned by her fiancé, Prince Henri, and sent into exile. However, instead of sitting and crying in a world devastated by war, Romelia decides to roll up her sleeves. The determination of this young woman, who builds her own army, revives the economy, and fights against dark conspiracies, offers a breath of fresh air for fans of the genre. Additionally, it was announced on the official website that special content titled "Chapter 0: The First Step," which tells the events before Romelia's journey began and was written by the original author Ryo Ariyama himself, has been released.
The new names added to the voice cast prove that the project is ambitious. While Yuna Nemoto voices Romelia, new characters accompanying her include Yuya Hirose as Prince Henri, Sayaka Sembongi as the saint Elisabeth, and Mariya Ise as the witch Ekaterina. Animation production is being handled by Studio Atra. While Hiroshi Shirai sits in the director's chair, the legendary composer KOHTA YAMAMOTO, known for works such as Attack on Titan Final Season and 86, is behind the music. This technical team signals that the series will be of high quality both visually and aurally.
The original light novel series, started by Ryo Ariyama on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in 2019, has achieved great success by selling over 500,000 copies to date. The work, which was also brought to the manga world with illustrations by Ryo Kamito, is a candidate to be one of the most remarkable works of 2026 for anime lovers who enjoy the post-war reconstruction process and political intrigue. If you are curious about the behind-the-scenes of heroic stories and how a kingdom is born from its ashes, Romelia War Chronicle should definitely be on your radar.
