Sailor Moon and Incense Giant Nihon Kodo Partnership: 'Seiun' Series Launches on July 3

A brand new collectible item is coming for Sailor Moon fans! Naoko Takeuchi's iconic manga and anime series has collaborated with Nihon Kodo, one of Japan's oldest incense makers, to create a limited-edition incense set. This product, a special version of the traditional incense called 'Seiun' (Blue Cloud), will hit shelves in Japan on July 3, 2024.
Nihon Kodo, whose roots date back to the 1570s and is known for its 'Seiun' incense, this time offers a special packaging decorated with Sailor Moon symbols. While the scent itself remains true to the classic 'Seiun' formula, the boxes feature illustrations of Usagi Tsukino, Tuxedo Mask, and other Sailor Guardians. This makes it one of the series' first officially licensed products in home decoration and aromatherapy.
Sailor Moon, which has reached millions of fans worldwide since the 1990s, continues to make headlines with various collaborations even after its 30th anniversary. Following partnerships with cosmetic, clothing, and accessory brands in recent years, this collaboration with a traditional Japanese incense brand once again highlights the series' cultural diversity and nostalgic power. Nihon Kodo had previously made similar partnerships with popular series like Dragon Ball and Demon Slayer, thus bringing together anime culture and traditional Japanese scents.
This limited-edition incense set appears attractive to both collectors and fans seeking a different experience for daily use. Although the product's price has not been announced yet, it is stated that it can be obtained from major electronics stores and online platforms in Japan. If you want to bring the magical world of Sailor Moon into your home, mark July 3 on your calendar. International sales channels are expected to be announced in the coming days.
