Second Teaser PV Released for PSYREN Anime Adaptation
PSYREN The long-awaited moment has arrived for fans. The anime adaptation of Toshiaki Iwashiro's manga, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2005 to 2008 and noted for its psychological thriller and science fiction elements, will air in Japan starting October 2025, primarily on TOKYO MX and BS11. This news was announced alongside the second teaser promotional video released by the studio.
The new teaser PV showcases actual anime footage for the first time. While previous teasers were limited to visuals and logos, this time the moving characters, background details, and the series' dark atmosphere are clearly visible. In the video, we witness the main characters Ageha and his friends stepping into a mysterious PSYREN (psychic powers) world. Manga readers will immediately notice that these scenes reference some iconic moments from the early volumes.
Throughout its 16-volume run, the manga stood out for its dark themes, cleverly constructed puzzles, and deep psychological conflicts between characters. PSYREN has sold over 2.5 million copies in Japan and gained a cult following, especially in the West. This work by author Iwashiro previously received an OVA adaptation in 2008, but a full-fledged TV series had long remained a dream. With the initial announcement in 2024, the fan base was greatly excited, and this new teaser has further raised expectations.
Although the studio producing the anime has not been officially announced yet, industry sources indicate that the project is being carried out by a high-quality production team. The voice cast and additional details are expected to be shared in the coming months. PSYREN The anime adaptation is poised to be one of the most ambitious productions of fall 2025, both for longtime fans and newcomers to the series. New trailers and character introductions will continue to be released in the following weeks.
