Japan Release Date and Main Visual Announced for Sekiro: No Defeat Anime Film

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of FromSoftware's critically acclaimed game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, titled Sekiro: No Defeat, has excited fans with its Japan cinema release date and stunning main visual. The anime film will meet audiences in cinemas across Japan for a limited three-week period starting from September 4, 2026. This announcement provides an important update on the project's production process, while also revealing that it will be exclusively streamed worldwide via Crunchyroll.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a highly acclaimed action-adventure game developed by FromSoftware and released on March 22, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game solidified its place in the industry by winning the 2019 Game of the Year award. Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, this production tells the revenge story of Wolf, a one-armed shinobi tasked with rescuing his lord Kuro, set in a fantastical Japan during the Sengoku period.
