Along with the new trailer, a very special name joining the voice cast was also announced. Jesse, a member of the popular idol group SixTONES, will take on a dual role in the film, voicing the original twin characters Aruru and Deruru. Having previously performed in projects such as the Beetlejuice musical, Jesse will establish a mysterious connection to Keroro's past with these new characters. Additionally, one of the rising stars of recent times, ano, will perform the film's theme song, "Kashippanashi Destiny". ano previously garnered great acclaim in the anime world with performances in works such as Chainsaw Man and Ranma ½.
The manga, started in 1999 by the creator of the series Mine Yoshizaki, turned into a massive anime series that began in 2004 and lasted for 358 episodes. At the helm of this new film project is a very familiar name: Yuichi Fukuda, director of the Gintama live-action films, is serving as the supervising director and screenwriter. The animation production is being handled by Sunrise (now known as Bandai Namco Pictures). Satoshi Koike is credited with character designs, while Fumitoshi Oizaki sits in the director's chair.
This film is seen not only as an anniversary celebration but also as the first step in the grand return of the Keroro legend in the modern era. With a new TV anime also announced to begin in the fall 2026 season, this feature film will ignite the story. After a 16-year hiatus, we will all see whether the clumsy platoon consisting of Keroro, Giroro, Tamama, Kururu, and Dororo will have to save or destroy Earth (or as they call it, Pekopon). Fans have already started counting down the days to watch both old friends and new rivals like Aruru and Deruru in this nostalgia-filled adventure.
