Shōzen Anime Adaptation's First Promotional Video Announces April 2027 Release Date
The first promotional video for the TV anime Shōzen, adapted from Chinese artist Jiang Jia Meizi's manhua Shang Shan, has been released. According to Anime News Network, the video shown on August 5, 2026, confirmed that the production will premiere in April 2027. The same trailer also announced that the main cast includes Rina Kawaguchi and Hiroshi Kamiya.
Shōzen is the Japanese animation adaptation of the source manhua Shang Shan. The story, which met readers in the Chinese comics world, is known for its narrative combining Eastern culture and fantastical elements. Although the characters they will voice have not yet been announced, the involvement of one of the industry's most recognized voices, such as Hiroshi Kamiya, already makes Shōzen one of the most highly anticipated productions.
Kamiya has a large fan base worldwide for his performances as Levi in Attack on Titan, Koyomi Araragi in the Monogatari Series, and Yato in Noragami. Rina Kawaguchi, on the other hand, continues her rise in the anime world with this project.
