New Visual and Voice Cast Announced for Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari Anime!

More anticipated news continues to arrive for the anime Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari (Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You), which tells the story of those small, peaceful moments in the adult world in the most sincere way. A new key visual featuring all the characters has been released for the anime adaptation of the series, created by Jinushi, which quickly turned into a phenomenon. Along with the visual, new voice actors who will add depth to the story were also officially announced.
According to the newly shared information, experienced names such as Toa Yukinari, Megumi Toyoguchi, Rikuya Yasuda, and Yoko Hikasa have joined the series' expanding voice cast. These names will accompany the previously announced leads, Takuya Sato (Sasaki) and Seena Hoshiki (Yamada/Tayama). It had also been previously confirmed that we will see Shinya Takahashi in the role of Suzuki, a colleague of our main character, Sasaki. The fact that the cast consists of such talented names signals that the series' unique, calm, yet impressive atmosphere will be successfully reflected on the screen.
Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari follows the story of Sasaki, a 45-year-old tired office worker. The smiling cashier Yamada at the supermarket he visits to escape the stress of the day is his only solace. However, one evening, when Sasaki cannot find Yamada at her post, he meets a rebellious-looking and mysterious woman named Tayama in the secret smoking area behind the store. What Sasaki does not know is that Tayama is actually the very cashier he loves so much, Yamada. The "smoke break" friendship between this duo promises viewers both funny and heartwarming moments.
Looking at the history of the series, we see that its success is no coincidence. The series, which first started as a webcomic on Twitter (X) in March 2022, was serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine due to the intense interest it received. Winning first place in the web category at the Next Manga Awards in 2022, the work also ranked high on prestigious lists such as Manga Taisho. Produced by Asahi Production and scheduled to air in July 2026, this anime should be on the radar of all anime lovers who want to take a breath in the hustle and bustle of modern life.
