Steins;Gate fans, the countdown has begun! A special exhibition will be held in Akihabara, the heart of Tokyo, for the 15th anniversary of the cult anime series that aired in 2011. The event titled “Steins;Gate ANIMATION 15th Anniversary EXHIBITION” will welcome visitors at AKIBA_SQUARE from July 17 to August 2, 2025.
The exhibition aims to faithfully recreate the atmosphere of the “Future Gadget Lab”, well known to fans of the series. Visitors can wander among Rintaro Okabe’s crazy inventions and relive key scenes of the story. Additionally, exhibition-exclusive products and visuals await participants.
Steins;Gate is a science fiction masterpiece about neuroscience student Rintaro Okabe accidentally discovering the secrets of time travel. The anime, produced by White Fox studio, originated from the original visual novel released in 2009 by 5pb. (Mages.) and Nitroplus, and was adapted for television in 2011. Receiving full marks from both critics and viewers, the work achieved cult status with its complex time loops and emotional depth.
AKIBA_SQUARE, where the exhibition is held, is one of Akihabara's most popular event venues. It is located right in the center of the places where Steins;Gate takes place. For fans, this exhibition is not just a commemoration, but also an opportunity to breathe the spirit of the series. Additionally, limited edition products, replica accessories, and artworks are expected to be available for sale.
Although the event details have not yet been fully announced, it is already clear that it will bring a new breath to the Steins;Gate universe. The series’ 15th anniversary was also celebrated with a special visual novel project released in recent months. Now it is the anime's turn – and fans are eagerly wondering whether this exhibition will herald a new announcement in the future.
