Studio Ghibli Fest 2026 Tickets Are Now on Sale: Legendary Films Return to the Big Screen

GKIDS and Fathom Entertainment have announced that tickets are now on sale for Studio Ghibli Fest 2026, which brings the most beloved works of the legendary Studio Ghibli back to movie theaters. This year's event includes seven iconic films selected from the studio's rich library, offering fans the opportunity to experience these masterpieces on the big screen. The new trailer released alongside the announcement provides a glimpse into Ghibli's enchanting world and confirms that screenings will be available in both original Japanese with subtitles and English dubbed versions.
The 2026 program stands out with special anniversary screenings that celebrate major milestones in the studio's history. The festival will kick off with Ponyo from June 13-17 and continue with My Neighbor Totoro in July. August will turn into a full celebration; Tales from Earthsea will celebrate its 20th anniversary, Only Yesterday its 35th, and the studio's first official production, Castle in the Sky, will mark its 40th anniversary. At the end of September, Princess Mononoke will meet audiences in a 4K remastered version, while the festival will conclude in October with the Oscar-winning Spirited Away, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Founded in 1985 by Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, and Toshio Suzuki, Studio Ghibli is known for its profound stories and unique visual style that prove animation is not just for children. First held in 2017, Ghibli Fest has since become a tradition, especially in North America, and attracts thousands of anime fans every year.
