Suikoden Anime Cast Expands: Eight New Voice Actors Announced!

Exciting new details have been shared for the anime adaptation of Konami's cult RPG series Suikoden. The production team announced that they have added eight new voice actors (seiyuu) to the cast for the series, which is set to begin airing in October 2026. Among these new names are stars well-known in the anime world, such as Jun Kasama, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Megumi Han, and Shōta Hayama. This move is considered the greatest indicator of how seriously the series takes its vast range of characters.
In the newly announced cast, the inclusion of Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, whom we know from Sword Art Online, and Megumi Han, etched into memory as Gon from Hunter x Hunter, has pushed expectations among fans to the peak. Although it has not yet been fully revealed which of the "108 Stars of Destiny" the characters will voice, bringing together such a talented cast signals that the series will remain faithful to its epic narrative. Along with Jun Kasama and Shōta Hayama, there are four other talented artists among the new names.
The Suikoden series first entered our lives on the PlayStation platform in 1995 and became one of the cornerstones of the JRPG genre with its deep story filled with political intrigue. Inspired by the classic Chinese novel Water Margin, the series focuses on players gathering 108 different characters to build an army and fight against tyranny. This anime project, coming after many years of silence, symbolizes the rebirth of the brand alongside the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars releases.
Game adaptations have gained great momentum in the anime world in recent years, and bringing a production with such rich lore as Suikoden to the screen offers a great opportunity for both old fans and the new generation of viewers. With the broadcast schedule starting in October, the extent to which the series' animation quality and story flow will reflect the spirit of the original game is a matter of curiosity. The sharing of character designs and the first official trailers in the coming months will further increase the excitement within the community.
