Action-Packed Trailer for the New That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Film: "Tears of the Azure Sea"!

Rimuru Tempest and his friends' adventure returns to the big screen! An action-packed new trailer has been shared for Tears of the Azure Sea (Sōkai no Namida-hen), the second feature-length film for the popular isekai series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken). Released with both English dubbed and original Japanese audio options, this trailer gives fans hints of an epic battle that transcends the borders of the Jura Tempest Federation.
The film's story is based on an original side story penned by the series creator, Fuse. Taking place immediately after the third season, the events follow Rimuru and his team as they are invited to a private vacation island by Elmesia, the empress of the Magi Dynasty Thalion. However, this peaceful getaway quickly turns into a dangerous mission with the arrival of Yura, a mysterious priestess from the underwater kingdom of Kaien. Plans to awaken an ancient water dragon and a threat of invasion toward the surface force Rimuru to descend into the depths of the ocean.
Produced once again by studio 8bit, the film sees Yasuhito Kikuchi, known for the first film Scarlet Bond, in the director's chair. Raising the bar technically, the production draws attention with its advanced water physics CGI technology developed specifically for the underwater scenes. The film, which premiered in Japan on February 27, 2026, will meet audiences in Europe starting April 28, and in the United States and Canada on May 1, 2026. With the fourth season of the series also beginning to air as of April, this means a complete Tensura feast for fans.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has become one of the biggest brands in the modern isekai genre, selling millions of copies worldwide since its journey began as a light novel in 2014. Having achieved great success at the box office with its first film, Scarlet Bond, the series aims to expand its universe even further with this new film. If you are also following Rimuru's journey from a slime to a demon lord, this new cinematic experience serves as a bridge you shouldn't miss. Get ready, because the leader of Tempest is coming to dispense justice not only on land but also in the deep blue this time!
