Cat and Dragon Anime Adaptation Shares New Trailer and Voice Cast

The anime adaptation of the beloved manga series The Cat and the Dragon (Kedi ve Ejderha) has left fans breathless once again with a new promotional trailer. Along with the trailer, additional voice actors joining the production have been announced, further rounding out the project's cast.
The released trailer highlights the interactions between the main characters and the enchanting scenes of the fantasy world. The visual quality and smooth animation confirm that the series is being handled by Studio Bind (Mushoku Tensei). Among the new additions to the previously announced lead cast are Miyuki Sawashiro, who will voice the mysterious cat companion, and Kaito Ishikawa, who will bring the dragon character to life. Fans are already eagerly anticipating the chemistry between this duo.
The series is based on the manga of the same name by author Kōsuke Kurose. The manga first began serialization in Kadokawa's Dengeki Daioh magazine in 2021 and quickly gained popularity due to its heartwarming friendship story. The Cat and the Dragon explores the friendship of two contrasting characters: an ordinary cat and a legendary dragon. Such 'friendship fantasy' stories have garnered significant interest in the anime world in recent years; the success of productions like Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Delicious in Dungeon shows that this theme resonates with audiences.
As new season announcements continue at a fast pace in the anime world, The Cat and the Dragon sharing a detailed trailer at such an early stage demonstrates confidence in the production's quality. The project is directed by Yoshinobu Tokumoto, with the screenplay written by Deko Akao. The team, which has previously worked on shows like ACCA 13 and Kino's Journey, now promises a warm and heartfelt fantasy adventure.
Although an official release date has not yet been announced, it is expected to premiere in spring 2025. The new voice cast and trailer hint that the series will be streamed on platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix. Fans are sharing their excitement on social media with the hashtag #KediVeEjderha, and new promotional visuals or character posters are expected in the coming weeks.
