New Cast Announcements for The Duke's Son Claims He Won't Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration Anime: Starts in July!

Exciting news for fans of popular romantic fantasy series! Two more important names have joined the voice cast of The Duke's Son Claims He Won't Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration (Kimi o Aisuru Ki wa Nai to Itta Jiki Kōshaku-sama ga Nazeka Dekiai Shitekimasu), one of the most anticipated productions of the summer season. According to the official announcement, Hibiku Yamamura and Junya Enoki are the latest additions to the cast of the series, which will premiere in July 2026.
Hibiku Yamamura (Arpeggio of Blue Steel) will voice the newly announced character Rebeka Rikkonen, while Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen) will voice Hannes Eukrainen, the brother of the main character. These two will join previously announced stars Yui Ishikawa (Elsa Yukarainen) and Soma Saito (Julius Roias). Such a strong cast hints at the high emotional depth the series will offer.
The story begins when Elsa, from a fallen aristocratic family, receives an unexpected marriage proposal from Julius, one of the country's most elite nobles. However, things change on the wedding day; Julius coldly tells Elsa that he will never love her. Interestingly, despite these words, Julius begins to act extremely protective and affectionate (dekiai) toward Elsa. This "supposedly cold but actually in love" theme stands out as one of the freshest examples of the romantic misunderstanding genre, which has become quite popular in the anime world in recent years.
The anime, produced by Zero-G and Grass studios, is directed by Hitoyuki Matsui. The screenplay is entrusted to Tomoko Konparu, known for successful romantic works like Kimi ni Todoke. The original story is based on a manga series written by Kei Misawa and illustrated by Natsu Mizuno. The manga, which first began publication in 2021, quickly reached a large fan base and inspired a light novel adaptation. Premiering in July, this production looks like a candidate to be one of the summer season's essentials, especially for viewers who enjoy series like 7th Time Loop or The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion.
