New Cast Announcement for The Duke's Son Claims He Won't Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration Anime: Starts in July!

Romantic fantasy winds continue to blow in the anime world! Exciting new details have been shared for the highly anticipated The Duke's Son Claims He Won't Love Me Yet Showers Me with Adoration (known in Japanese as Kimi o Aisuru Ki wa Nai to Itta Jiki Kōshaku-sama ga Nazeka Dekiai Shitekimasu) anime. According to the official announcement made during the AnimeJapan 2026 event, two major names have joined the series' voice cast: Kaito Ishikawa and Chika Anzai. The series is preparing to meet the audience in July 2026.
The story begins when Elsa Yukarainen (voiced by Yui Ishikawa), who comes from a fallen aristocratic family, receives an unexpected marriage proposal from Julius Roias (voiced by Soma Saito), a high-ranking and elite noble. However, on their wedding night, Julius coldly tells Elsa that he will never love her. The interesting and sweet part is that, despite these words, Julius showers Elsa with attention and affection. This contradictory relationship dynamic promises a delightful viewing experience by blending elements of romance and comedy.
In the newly announced cast, Kaito Ishikawa will bring the character Yalmo Parnila to life, while Chika Anzai will voice the character Serafina Parnila. We know Ishikawa from his role as Tobio Kageyama in the Haikyuu!! series, and Anzai from her energetic performance as Chisato Nishikigi in Lycoris Recoil. The inclusion of these two experienced names has significantly raised expectations for the production's quality. Their chemistry with lead actors like Yui Ishikawa and Soma Saito is particularly anticipated.
The anime's technical staff also consists of quite ambitious names. The series, a co-production of Zero-G and Glass studios, is directed by Hitoyuki Matsui. The screenplay is entrusted to Tomoko Konparu, whom we know from classics such as NANA and Kimi ni Todoke. Adapted from the original manga series written by Kei Misawa and illustrated by Natsu Mizuno, this production is a candidate to be a summer season staple for those who love palace intrigues and "doting" themed stories. We recommend you don't miss this romantic journey starting in July!
