The Elusive Samurai Season 2 Starts on July 13 – Opening Song and Cast Details Revealed

The story of escape master Tokiyuki Hojo returns! It was officially announced with a new promotional video that the second season of The Elusive Samurai (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi) will air on July 13, 2025. The video also revealed that the opening theme song is “Onigoto” performed by Kento Nakajima.
The series, which received great acclaim with its first season last year, is by Yusei Matsui, creator of Assassination Classroom. Set in the Kamakura period and based on real historical events, the manga tells the story of Tokiyuki, heir to the Hojo clan, as he escapes a massacre and fights for survival. The first season was brought to life with visually impressive production by CloverWorks, and its action scenes and character designs in particular received praise.
The new promotional video offers hints about where the story will evolve in the second season, while also announcing new voice actors joining the cast. It appears that the main cast from the first season is largely retained. Additionally, it is stated that series director Yuta Yamazaki and head screenwriter Yoriko Tomita will continue their roles in the second season. The music will again be composed by Kakeru Ishihama.
Airing on July 13 on Japanese television and various platforms, the second season of The Elusive Samurai will cover the popular Suwa and Shinano arcs from the manga. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what strategy Tokiyuki will develop against the ever-growing enemy and whether he will gain new allies. For international viewers, a simulcast on Crunchyroll is expected, but no official announcement has been made yet.
