The Elusive Samurai Season 2 Starts on July 17: Opening Song and New Cast Announced

The Elusive Samurai (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi) fans have exciting news: The second season of the series starts on July 17. The newly released promotional video revealed many details from the opening song to the additional cast.
The opening song "Onigoto" will be performed by Japanese singer and former Sexy Zone member Kento Nakajima. Nakajima's piece stands out with its strong melody reflecting the spirit of historical action. Additionally, the voice actors joining the new season and the background staff were also introduced in the short video.
As a reminder: The Elusive Samurai manga, written by Assassination Classroom creator Yusei Matsui, has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2021. The story, set in feudal Japan, follows the last heir of the Hojo clan, Tokiyuki Hojo, in his struggle of escape and survival. The first season was adapted by studio CloverWorks in the summer of 2024 and received great acclaim for both its visuals and historical atmosphere.
In the first season, Tokiyuki's mentor Suwa Yorishige and other allies were depicted in their attempts to hide from Ashikaga Takauji's forces. The new season is expected to cover parts of the manga that deal with an approaching great war and broader alliances. The released trailer also features darker and more action-packed scenes.
The production, which can be watched on Crunchyroll in Turkey, is an unmissable option for history enthusiasts and shonen fans. With the first episode of season 2, we will see how new characters are introduced into the story. New promotions are expected in the coming weeks.
