Who Will Voice Queen Rubini in the Nigashita Sakana wa Ookikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ookisugita Ken Anime?

The voice cast of Nigashita Sakana wa Ookikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ookisugita Ken (Always a Catch!: How I Punched My Way into Marrying a Prince) continues to expand. According to the latest announcement by the production team, master voice actress Yuko Kaida will voice one of the series' key figures, Queen Rubini. The character's official design sketches were also unveiled alongside this announcement.
The anime, which began airing in April 2026, is based on the popular light novel series written by Mayo Momoyo and illustrated by Itsuki Mito. The story revolves around Maria "Mimi" Annovazzi, the daughter of a duke who has mastered 80 different forms of martial arts after being raised as her family's heir. However, after losing her right to inherit following the birth of her brother, Maria travels to the Kingdom of Rubini to find someone to marry. There, the events that begin with her engagement being publicly broken by a prince she has never met result in Maria catching a much "bigger fish" than she expected.
Produced in collaboration between Studio TROYCA and TMS Entertainment, the production is directed by Akira Oguro, with the screenplay adaptation handled by Michiko Yokote. The lead roles are voiced by Yu Serizawa as Maria and Atsushi Tamaru as Prince Renato. The newest addition to the cast, Yuko Kaida, is known for voicing iconic characters such as Isabella in The Promised Neverland and Tsukuyo in Gintama. The artist's strong and authoritative vocal tone is expected to best reflect the nobility and charisma of Queen Rubini on screen.
This development has created great excitement, especially among anime fans who enjoy "villainess" or noble-themed romantic comedies. This unique story, which combines Maria's physical strength with palace intrigue, sets itself apart from classic examples of the genre with its sense of humor. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see how Queen Rubini will shape the story and her interactions with Maria in the upcoming episodes of the series, which can also be watched on Crunchyroll.
