New Trailer Released for The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc Film: LiSA Returns!

The popular series where magic and technology blend, The Irregular at Magic High School (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei), is preparing for a magnificent return to the big screen. The main trailer for the Yotsuba Succession Arc film, considered one of the most critical turning points in the series, has finally met with audiences. Along with the trailer, it was announced that the film will be in theaters on May 8, and another detail that excited fans of the series is that the theme song will be performed by the famous artist LiSA. This new track, titled "YES," serves as a nod to the roots of the series.
The involvement of LiSA in this project carries great meaning for the series' loyal followers. The artist became a part of the series' identity with "Rising Hope," the unforgettable opening song of the first season released in 2014. Returning to accompany the story of Tatsuya Shiba and Miyuki Shiba with her voice years later, LiSA will reinforce the film's emotional and action-packed atmosphere with the song "YES." The 8-bit studio, which handles the animation production, signals that it will raise the bar once again with the visual quality and fluid fight scenes showcased in the trailer.
Based on the 16th volume of the original light novel series written by Tsutomu Satou, this arc covers events that will change the fate of the Shiba siblings forever. Focusing on the internal structure of the Yotsuba family and the process of Miyuki becoming the next leader of the family, the story brings the series' political depth and character development to the highest level. The series, which began its publication life in 2011 and has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, had previously gained a massive fan base with three main seasons and the 2017 film The Girl Who Summons the Stars.
This new film is positioned not just as a side story, but as one of the most important building blocks of the main plot. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how Tatsuya's hidden powers and his complex ties with the Yotsuba family will be handled. Although it is not yet clear when the film will be released on international platforms following its Japan premiere on May 8, it is expected to reach global audiences in a short time, considering the series' global popularity. Yotsuba Succession Arc will also serve as a bridge for potential future seasons of the series.
