New Footage from The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc Film: Tatsuya Shiba's Unstoppable Power Impresses

The Irregular at Magic High School fans have been long awaiting the Yotsuba Succession Arc film, which has come to the fore with a new promotional video following its release in Japan on May 8, 2026. In the shared main footage, the overwhelming and unstoppable magic power displayed by the series' protagonist, Tatsuya Shiba, against his rivals takes center stage. The film covers the Yotsuba clan succession process, one of the most critical turning points in the series.
This new film deals with the events immediately following the third season, which aired in 2024. The story explores Miyuki Shiba being nominated as the next leader of the Yotsuba clan and how this situation will fundamentally change the lives of the two siblings. While Tatsuya tries to protect his sister with his usual composure, the clan's dark secrets and internal family politics are brought to the big screen with action-packed scenes. Fans, in particular, have the chance to see Tatsuya's strategic genius and destructive abilities in their purest form in this film.
Produced by Studio 8-bit, the film is directed by Jimmy Stone. The series' characteristic music once again bears the signature of master composer Taku Iwasaki. While iconic names like Yuichi Nakamura (Tatsuya) and Saori Hayami (Miyuki) return to their roles in the voice cast, the performance of Chiwa Saito, who brings the character Maya Yotsuba to life, is also of great importance for this arc. Technically, the film promises much more fluid animations and detailed magic effects compared to the previous productions of the series.
The original light novel series written by Tsutomu Sato
