New Details on The Unaware Saint Anime: Edward Character Visual and Comments from Makoto Furukawa Shared
A new update has arrived for The Unaware Saint Is Undeliberately Leaking Her Power Today (Japanese: Mujikaku Seijo wa Kyou mo Muishiki ni Chikara o Tare-nagasu), an anime that opens the doors to fantasy worlds and is among the most anticipated productions of recent times. The second character concept visual shared through the series' official channels showcases the determined and powerful stance of Edward, one of the key figures in the story. Along with the visual, exciting comments from the famous voice actor Makoto Furukawa, who brings the character to life, were presented to fans.
Adapted from the popular light novel series written by Almond and brought to life with illustrations by Yoshiro Ambe, the anime will begin airing in Japan in July 2026. The story centers on Carolina (also referred to as Lia in some translations), the outcast daughter of a duke. Considered talentless by her family and left in the shadow of her sister Flora, Carolina is forced into a political marriage with Edward, known as the "Bloodthirsty Prince" of the neighboring empire. However, there is a truth Carolina is unaware of: she is a true saint who unconsciously radiates immense holy power.
Voice actor Makoto Furukawa, who voices Prince Edward, drew attention to the character's inner strength and determination in his statement regarding the new visual. The experienced artist, known for his roles as Saitama in One-Punch Man and Miyuki Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, stated that Edward is not just a stern prince, but also carries a deep sense of responsibility. Furukawa added that the character's determined expression in the visual provides clues as to how his relationship with Carolina will evolve as the story progresses.
The production of the anime is handled by studios Magic Bus and Picante Circus. Directed by Mitsutaka Noshitani, the screenplay adaptation is entrusted to Tōko Machida. The series' music is composed by SUPA LOVE, while the opening theme will be performed by Kaya (Hanaya). This adaptation of the original work, which has sold over 1 million copies, appears to be a candidate for one of the most ambitious romantic fantasy productions of 2026, especially for anime lovers who enjoy "misunderstood hero" and "hidden power" themes.
