New Trailer Released for 'Though I Am an Inept Villainess' Anime: Opening Song by milet and Additional Cast Announced

Though I Am an Inept Villainess the highly anticipated official trailer for the anime has been released, announcing both the opening theme song and new cast members. The trailer showcases the energetic track 'Sunny' performed by renowned Japanese singer milet, along with the series' atmosphere. The series will air in Japan on July 12, 2026.
The additional cast includes beloved voice actors such as Kazuki Ura (as Kyōhei), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (as Sōsuke), and Saori Hayami (as Kiyoka). Previously announced main cast includes Reina Ueda as the protagonist Kōko and Junya Enoki as Prince Kōsuke. The trailer also showcases the series' visuals blending romantic comedy and fantasy elements for the first time to a wide audience.
Though I Am an Inept Villainess is based on a popular light novel series written by Satsuki Shiina and illustrated by Kiyo. The series, which began in 2020, tells the story of a woman who is reincarnated as a 'villainess' but is actually completely unsuited for the role. The manga adaptation started in 2021 and quickly gained a large fan base. The anime is considered one of the most notable villainess-themed works of the year and brings a fresh breath to the recent popularity of the genre.
milet is known for her contributions to works such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Fire Force; her opening song 'Sunny' perfectly accompanies the series' cheerful and light-paced tone.
