First Trailer Released for the Anime Film Dokoyori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e: Here is the Voice Cast!

Exciting details have been shared for the Dokoyori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e (To You in the Beyond) anime film! Adapted from Akiko Abe's popular novel, this fantasy youth drama invites viewers to the shores of a mysterious island with its first teaser trailer. The voice actors who will star in the film have also been officially announced, and the cast looks quite impressive.
The film stars rising talents Hiiro Ishibashi (Kazuki Tsukigase) and Anna Nagase (Nanao Akika). They will be joined by Shimba Tsuchiya (Mikiya Ozaki) and experienced actor Hiroshi Tamaki (Takatsu). The story follows Kazuki, who moves to a remote island to escape his past, as he meets Nanao, whom he finds unconscious in a legendary area known as the "Cove Where Gods Are Abducted." The only clue to Nanao's identity is the year "1974" that she constantly mutters, and this mystery sits at the heart of the story.
There is a very strong team behind the scenes of the film. Produced by TMS Entertainment, the film is directed by Junichi Wada, while the screenplay is entrusted to Sayaka Kuwamura, who received great acclaim for Josee, the Tiger and the Fish. The character designs bear the signature of Hechima. Additionally, the film will feature an impressive track titled "Balsam" performed by Tota. The original work was published under the Shueisha Orange Bunko label in 2017 and quickly reached a wide fan base.
This production is a candidate to be one of the most anticipated films of the year, especially for anime enthusiasts who love emotional "boy-meets-girl" stories. Blending mystery, romance, and the pains of growing up, Dokoyori mo Tooi Basho ni Iru Kimi e will meet moviegoers in Japan on October 9, 2026. If you enjoy stories that touch the heart and contain supernatural secrets, you should definitely add this film to your watchlist!
