Trailer, Singers, and October 9 Release Date Announced for Toaru Anbu no Item Anime

The long-awaited release date for the Toaru Anbu no Item anime has finally been announced! In an announcement from the series' official channels, it was reported that the production will start on October 9 and a new trailer has been released. Additionally, the names of the performers for the opening and ending songs have been clarified.
The opening song accompanying the trailer, “Ghost Sequence”, will be performed by the Japanese rock group East of Eden. The ending song “Kuzushi” is by Kishida Kyōdan & THE AKEBOSHI ROCKETS. Both groups consist of names previously known for anime music; especially, Kishida Kyōdan is known for their contributions to the A Certain Scientific Railgun series.
This new series is a spin-off set in the universe of Kazuma Kamachi's A Certain Magical Index. The story focuses on the mercenary group known as Item (Anbu). Item consists of four members led by Mugino Shizuri and operates in the dark side of Academy City. This universe, which previously expanded with three seasons of Index, three seasons of Railgun, and the Accelerator anime, will now tell Item's story.
The anime adaptation of the spin-off was announced in 2025 and created great excitement among fans. Toaru Anbu no Item will focus on Mugino Shizuri, one of the most beloved side characters from the Index series, and her team, delving deeper into events that were only hinted at in the main series. This is a must-watch opportunity, especially for Railgun fans, because Item plays an important role in the Railgun story.
Although the broadcaster and platform information have not been clarified yet, it is expected to be available on Crunchyroll and similar global platforms, like previous Index universe productions. October seems to be quite busy for fans of the Index universe. You can watch the new trailer below and eagerly await the first episode of the series starting on October 9.
