According to the official announcement made at the AnimeJapan 2026 event, the series' highly anticipated new installment, Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, will begin airing in October 2026. This new season will be a direct continuation of the first season (covering the Kyoto and Nerima arcs), which aired in 2025 and received great attention. Additionally, it was announced that renowned anime voice actors Nobuhiko Okamoto and Kent Ito have joined the series' voice cast.
The manga, written by Yura Urushibara and serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion magazine since 2020, blends the Japanese folktale Momotaro with modern combat fiction. The story follows the survival struggle of Shiki Ichinose, a rebellious teenager who discovers he is descended from an Oni (Demon) lineage, against the Momotaro Academy.
