Voice Actor Revealed for GOLAN Leader Kernel in New Hokuto no Ken Anime

Another new villain has been revealed to appear in the 7th episode of the Hokuto no Ken -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR- anime. In the adaptation of Buronson and Tetsuo Hara's legendary manga, experienced voice actor 星野貴紀 (Takaki Hoshino) will give life to Kernel, the leader of the military organization named GOLAN. The news was announced by official sources on May 6, 2026, exciting fans.
The new anime began airing in October 2025 on various channels in Japan, primarily Tokyo MX. This new adaptation of the 1980s cult manga is presented with modern animation techniques while remaining faithful to the original story. In recent months, it was announced that young talent Yuki Kaji would voice Kenshiro in the revealed cast. It was also stated that iconic characters like Raoh and Shin would be portrayed by famous names.
GOLAN is a mercenary group that appeared in the early episodes of the series, ruling in a post-apocalyptic world. Kernel, as the ruthless leader of this group, will be one of the first major obstacles Kenshiro encounters. Takaki Hoshino, known for adding depth to his characters, has previously appeared in productions such as Attack on Titan and One Piece. It is a matter of curiosity what kind of interpretation Hoshino, who stands out with his emphatic performance especially in action scenes, will bring to the role of Kernel. Kernel, who appeared briefly in the trailers, is expected to reflect the manga's tough and disciplined leader profile.
