Mai Nakahara Joins the Cast of Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2: High Mage Clairie Serah Arrives!
The wait is over for fans of Wistoria: Wand and Sword (Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria)! The series' highly anticipated second season returns with a major addition to its cast. According to the official announcement, one of the most recognizable voices in the anime world, Mai Nakahara, will take on a key role in the new season. Nakahara will voice the character High Mage Clairie Serah in the season's first episode (episode 13 overall), which is set to air on April 12, 2026.
Clairie Serah appears in the story as a member of "Mercedes Caulis" and a rare "Multos" capable of using multiple types of magic. The voice actress behind the character, Mai Nakahara, is no stranger to anime fans; she has previously brought iconic characters to life such as Nagisa Furukawa in the Clannad series and Rena Ryuuguu in Higurashi: When They Cry. The inclusion of this veteran artist already promises high quality for the dramatic and action-packed scenes in the second season.
The series is adapted from the popular manga written by Fujino Omori, the creator of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi), and illustrated by Toshi Aoi. Wistoria: Wand and Sword follows Will Serfort, who lacks magical ability but is a master of swordsmanship, as he makes a difficult climb through the magic academy to keep a promise he made to his childhood sweetheart, Elfaria. The production, which was highly acclaimed during its first season in the summer of 2024, quickly reached a wide audience with its unique style that blends magic and sword action.
The production of the second season is once again being handled by the studios Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures. In the director's chair, Tatsuya Yoshihara, known for Black Clover, serves as general director, while Hideaki Nakano serves as director. As Will's position at the academy strengthens in the new season, the dark secrets of the magic world are expected to deepen with the introduction of powerful figures like Clairie Serah. Fans will be able to witness the new act of this magical adventure with the premiere on April 12.
