The wait is over for Wistoria: Wand and Sword (Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria) fans! The ongoing second season of the series is preparing to enter a brand-new story arc that will ramp up the action. The new promotional video shared by the production team offers striking scenes and hints about this new era, which will begin on May 17, 2026 (with episode 18 in total). Will Serfort's struggle in the world of swords and magic will reach a much more critical stage with these new episodes.
As is known, Wistoria: Wand and Sword is written by Fujino Ōmori, the author of the globally successful Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi) series. The illustrations are by the talented artist Toshi Aoi. The story follows Will Serfort, who cannot use magic but possesses immense swordsmanship skills, as he strives to reach the pinnacle of the magic academy, the "Magia Vende" rank, to keep the promise he made to his childhood sweetheart, Elfaria. The first season of the series was met with great interest in 2024 and solidified its place in the fantasy genre with its visual quality.
On the production side of the anime, there are once again giant names involved. In the series, which is prepared in partnership with Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures studios, Tatsuya Yoshihara, known for his action direction in productions such as Black Clover and Chainsaw Man, sits in the "Chief Director" chair this season.
