New Voices in Witch Hat Atelier Anime: Episode 4 Date and Free Manga News!

Kamome Shirahama's enchanting world of Witch Hat Atelier (Tongari Boushi no Atelier) is seeing developments that delight fans on both the anime and manga fronts. In the 4th episode of the series' ongoing anime adaptation, which will air on April 27, two critical new characters are joining the story. Successful voice actor Mutsumi Tamura will bring to life the character Tartah (Tata), who will appear in the city of magicians, Kalhn. She will be accompanied by the master actor Yoshito Yasuhara in the role of Nolnoa, the owner of the magical stationery shop "Starry Sword" and Tartah's grandfather.
While the anime excitement continues at full speed, a huge opportunity has been presented for those who have not yet read the original manga or want to take another look. The Comic DAYS platform has made all 15 currently published volumes of the series available for free for just two days, between April 21 and 22. This move came as a big surprise, especially for readers who want to delve into the depths of the story before the fourth episode of the anime. The series, which has over 7.5 million copies in circulation worldwide, aims to further increase its popularity with such events.
Witch Hat Atelier is considered one of the most respected works in the modern manga world for its visual aesthetics and unique magic system. Written by Kamome Shirahama, the series achieved international success by winning both Eisner and Harvey awards in 2020 and 2025. The anime adaptation is being prepared by the Bug Films studio under the leadership of master director Ayumu Watanabe. In particular, the compositions of Yuka Kitamura, known for her music for games such as Elden Ring and Dark Souls, carry the atmosphere of the series to a whole new level.
The introduction of new characters shows that the story is entering the "City of Kalhn" arc and that the universe will expand even further. The Tartah character will play an important role in the development of our main character Coco's social connections and abilities in the world of magic. While fans of the series are eagerly waiting to see what kind of spirit these new voice actors will bring to the characters, the opening song "Kaze no Anthem," performed by Eve and suis (Yorushika), has already started climbing the charts. If you haven't stepped into this enchanting world yet, the free manga event might be the perfect time to start!
