Main Cast Announced for Mahoutsukai no Yoru Film: Voice Actors Return!

Exciting details continue to emerge for the Mahoutsukai no Yoru (Witch on the Holy Night) anime film, which Type-Moon fans have been eagerly awaiting for a long time. According to the official announcement, the film's main voice cast has been finalized, with the actors from the 2022 voiced version of the visual novel returning to their roles. The lead roles will feature Haruka Tomatsu as Aoko Aozaki, Kana Hanazawa as Alice Kuonji, and Yūsuke Kobayashi as Soujuurou Shizuki. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters in Japan in 2026.
Mahoutsukai no Yoru is based on a story written by the famous author Kinoko Nasu and is considered one of the cornerstones of the Type-Moon universe (Nasuverse). Although originally written as a novel in 1996, it only entered the gaming world as a visual novel in 2012. The story takes place in the town of Misaki, Japan, in the late 1980s and revolves around two mages living secretly in the modern world and an ordinary young man whose path crosses with theirs. This production also holds great importance for fans as it sheds light on events preceding the Tsukihime and Fate/stay night series.
The ufotable studio, which is handling the film's production, has previously proven how high it can raise the bar in visual quality with Demon Slayer and the Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel trilogy. The trailers released by the studio for Mahoutsukai no Yoru show that Aoko Aozaki's iconic magic scenes and the nostalgic atmosphere of the 1980s will be rendered with magnificent visuals. Especially the HD remaster of the visual novel released in 2022
