Main Cast Announced for Mahoutsukai no Yoru Anime Film: Original Voices Return!

One of the most important stages of an exciting wait for TYPE-MOON fans has been completed! The main voice cast for the Mahoutsukai no Yoru (Witch on the Holy Night) anime film, produced by the ufotable studio, has been officially announced. Haruka Tomatsu, Kana Hanazawa, and Yusuke Kobayashi, who first voiced the characters in the 2022 HD remaster of the original visual novel, will retain their roles in the film project.
This announcement was met with great joy among fans who wanted the characters' voices to remain consistent with the game. Haruka Tomatsu will voice the series' energetic and powerful main character Aoko Aozaki, while Kana Hanazawa will appear as the mysterious and quiet witch of the mansion, Alice Kuonji. Yusuke Kobayashi will once again bring to life Sojuro Shizuki, who moves from the mountains to the town and suddenly finds himself in the world of mages. Retaining the voice cast is seen as a critical step in bringing the game's atmosphere to the big screen.
Mahoutsukai no Yoru is actually based on a novel written in 1996 by TYPE-MOON founder and famous author Kinoko Nasu, which was not published at the time. Released as a visual novel in 2012, the work is chronologically one of the oldest stories in the "Nasuverse" universe, where series such as Tsukihime and Fate/stay night take place. Set in Misaki town in the late 1980s, the story follows Aoko's inheritance of her magical legacy and her extraordinary partnership with Alice.
ufotable studio, which sets industry standards with its visual quality, first announced this project at the end of 2021.
