Great news for fans of Kizudarake Seijo yori Houfuku wo Komete (With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess), the popular webtoon adaptation by Ami no Hada and SORAJIMA! According to the official announcement from the series' channels, the second season of this "light anime" production will begin airing in October 2026. The special teaser video shared alongside the announcement, reflecting the series' dramatic tone, was presented to viewers with an impressive piano scene symbolizing the protagonist's emotional transformation.
The series centers on the tragic story of a saintess candidate named Lua, who possesses healing powers but can only treat others by transferring their wounds to her own body. In the first season, we witnessed the downfall of Lua, who saved Knight Commander Garrett from death with a great sacrifice, only to have all her achievements stolen by her closest friend, Arianne. In the second season, we will watch the details of the cold-blooded revenge that Lua, whose hair turned white after the great betrayal and who was reborn as a "villainess," will take on those who turned their backs on her by collaborating with the Second Prince, Sven.
The production draws attention with the "light anime" format, which has been on the rise in Japan recently. Developed by AnimationID (a partnership between Imagica Infos and DNP), this format combines traditional animation techniques with the vertical-scrolling webtoon aesthetic to offer a faster and more stylized narrative. There is a change of guard in the director's chair for the second season; Saya Fukase takes over the role from Chisaki, who directed the first season.
