Yaiba: Samurai Legend Season 2 First Visual Revealed: The Kaguya Arc is Coming!

Yaiba, the legendary samurai adventure signed by the world-famous creator of the Detective Conan series, Gosho Aoyama, continues its magnificent return to the world of modern animation. Following the first season released last year, the highly anticipated first teaser visual for the second season of the series, Shin Samurai-den YAIBA (Yaiba: Samurai Legend), was presented to fans at the AnimeJapan 2026 event. The new season will bring one of the most iconic chapters of the manga, the Kaguya Arc, to the screen.
The newly shared visual has created great excitement among fans. The image depicts an emotional moment where the series' protagonist, Yaiba Kurogane, rushes to save Sayaka Mine, who is in a difficult situation, with the glowing Ryujinken (Dragon God Sword) in his hand. The production, which concluded its first season in September 2025, will focus on the struggle against the Moon Queen Kaguya, who will take the story to a much darker and more epic dimension with this new season.
The history of the Yaiba series is actually quite deep-rooted. The original manga was published in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine between 1988 and 1993 and was adapted into a 52-episode anime series in the 90s. However, this new project prepared by WIT Studio re-examines the story with modern visuals and covers all volumes of the manga. WIT Studio, known for giant productions such as Attack on Titan and Spy x Family, has already received full marks for the fluidity of the series' action scenes.
The technical staff of the new season also maintains the success of the first season. While Takahiro Hasui, known for Mob Psycho 100 III, sits in the director's chair, the character designs bear the signature of Yoshimichi Kameda. A nostalgic surprise awaits us in the voice cast; the legendary voice artist Minami Takayama, who is also the voice of Conan Edogawa, brings the Yaiba character to life. The music is prepared by Vinland Saga composer Yutaka Yamada and Yoshiaki Dewa.
Although a definitive release date has not yet been announced, the Kaguya Arc is expected to meet the audience in 2026. The fact that the first season was released globally on Netflix signals that the new season will also reach fans around the world quickly. This production, which combines samurai action, supernatural powers, and Aoyama's unique sense of humor, seems to be a candidate to satisfy both old-school fans and the new generation of anime lovers.
