A Big Reunion in the Yomi no Tsugai Anime: Shinichiro Miki Joins the Cast!

Exciting news has arrived for fans of Yomi no Tsugai (Daemons of the Shadow Realm), the latest major project from Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa. With the release of the series' 6th episode on May 9, 2026, it was officially announced that master voice actor Shinichiro Miki will be voicing Yosano Ivan, one of the key characters in the story. Miki previously left an indelible mark on the anime world by bringing Roy Mustang to life in Arakawa's legendary series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Yosano Ivan, voiced by Shinichiro Miki, appears in the series as a mysterious man with high combat skills who wields dual swords and is pursuing the main character, Yuru. An assassin connected to Nishino Village, Ivan is also a user of a powerful Tsugai (Daemon) named Magatsuhi. The character's connection to the disappearance of the twin siblings Yuru and Asa's parents makes him one of the most intriguing figures in the story. Miki's charismatic and authoritative tone is expected to successfully reflect the depth of this dangerous antagonist.
The anime, which began airing in April 2026, is being produced by Studio Bones (Bones Film). The director's chair is occupied by Masahiro Ando, known for Sword of the Stranger, while the screenplay adaptation is handled by Noboru Takagi, known for Golden Kamuy. The manga, which began serialization in Monthly Shonen Gangan in December 2021, focuses on the conflict between the modern world and a mystical mountain village.
