You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2 Release Date Announced: Returning in July 2026!

Good news has arrived for fans of You and I Are Polar Opposites (known in Japanese as Seihantai na Kimi to Boku), one of the most beloved examples of the romantic comedy genre in recent times. According to the official announcement made immediately after the series' first season finale, the second season will meet viewers on July 5, 2026. Announced during the AnimeJapan 2026 event, this date saves fans from a long wait after the first season concluded at the end of March.
The story focuses on the sweet relationship between Miyu Suzuki, an energetic and social high school student, and Yusuke Tani, who is quiet, introverted, but stands out for his honesty. Handling the classic "opposites attract" theme with a modern and sincere tone, the production highlights the characters' efforts to understand each other and their process of building healthy communication. Viewers who witnessed the beginning of this duo's relationship in the first season will follow the couple's deepening bond and new adventures in school life in the second season.
The technical team behind the anime continues to maintain its success. The series' animation is produced by Lapin Track, the studio behind successful works such as Shoushimin and Undead Girl Murder Farce. Takayoshi Nagatomo sits in the director's chair, while the music that accompanies the series' beloved atmosphere is composed by the famous producer tofubeats. In the voice cast, Sayumi Suzushiro (Suzuki) and Shogo Sakata (Tani) are returning to their roles.
The original manga, created by Kocha Agasawa, was published on the Shonen Jump+ platform between 2022 and 2024 and quickly gained great popularity. Ranking high in prestigious awards such as the "Next Manga Awards," the series won the hearts of readers with its 8-volume story. The anime adaptation's successful reflection of this sincere atmosphere has made the series one of the most talked-about romantic productions of 2026. The new season is also expected to meet international audiences via Crunchyroll.
