Youjo Senki II (Tanya the Evil 2) Release Date and New Key Visual Announced
The wait for Youjo Senki II (Tanya the Evil 2) is almost over! According to information from official sources, the highly anticipated second season will begin airing on July 8, 2025 on Tokyo MX and various other channels. Additionally, it will be available to watch on ABEMA and dAnime Store before and faster than terrestrial broadcasts.
In the released second key visual, a giant Tanya von Degurechaff is seen waving an orchestra conductor's baton. The visual once again emphasizes the series' unique blend of war and bureaucracy themes. Along with this, a continuation of the mini-anime (chibi-style short episodes) from the first season was also announced. The mini-anime series will be a separate surprise for viewers who enjoy the lighter and comedic aspects of the main story.
As you may recall, the Youjo Senki series, written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki, first began publication as a light novel in 2013. Then in 2017, the first anime season adapted by studio NUT received great acclaim, and in 2019 the story expanded with a film. Although the second season was announced a long time ago, the production process had turned into a marathon of waiting for fans. Finally, this wait ends in the summer of 2025.
While details about what will happen in the new season are still limited, we know that Tanya's adventures in the Imperial Army will continue after the events at the end of the first season. The series' combination of alternate history and military tactics seems set to captivate viewers again in the second season. If you haven't watched the first season and the film yet, now is a great opportunity to catch up before July.
In the coming days, new trailers, character introductions, and staff information are expected to be released. The countdown for Youjo Senki II has begun — don't forget to be in front of your screen on July 8!
