YuruYuri, one of the most beloved "slice of life" series in the anime world, is in the spotlight with news that will excite its fans. The Nanamori-chu Goraku-bu (Nanamori Middle School Amusement Club) group, consisting of the quartet who voice the main characters of the series, has announced that they will release a new album titled "YURUYURI Remix Album YuruYuri Mix♪♪" to celebrate their 15th anniversary. Announced at the 15th-anniversary event held on April 19, this special project will meet music lovers on July 29.
Created by Namori and beginning its journey in the Comic Yuri Hime magazine in 2008, YuruYuri achieved global success with its anime adaptation in 2011. The group members Shiori Mikami (Akari), Yuka Otsubo (Kyoko), Minami Tsuda (Yui), and Rumi Okubo (Chinatsu) have been bringing their characters to life for 15 years and maintaining their bond with fans through musical projects. A voice acting unit remaining active for this long is considered a rare achievement in the anime industry that reinforces fan loyalty.
The new album will reinterpret the series' unforgettable opening and ending songs with modern and energetic styles. The album will feature remixes by well-known names such as Tokyo Machine, Sasukue Haraguchi, PandaBoY, TEMPLIME, and Kijibato. This special collection, consisting of 11 songs in total, is produced by Tenshin-han Taro, who is known to be a die-hard fan of the series. The album aims to reflect the YuruYuri energy across a wide spectrum, from club music to chill-out and pop.
For fans, this album is not just a music release, but also a symbol of the Amusement Club's endless joy. In addition to surprise gifts for the first pressings, special illustrated cards and stickers will be offered for pre-orders from stores like Amazon and Animate. The 15th-anniversary celebrations are seen as an important milestone that brings the community together for potential future projects of the series.
